First responders work relentlessly to contain and extinguish a massive fire as it engulfs a five-story building southwest of the intersection of Kings Highway and Route 1, Feb. 8, 2020, Alexandria, Va. Authorities say the fire started at a construction site on Poag Street and rapidly grew, completely consuming nearby structures. According to the Fairfax County Fire Department, one firefighter and one civilian were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. An investigation to determine the cause of the fire is ongoing.
